Before you leave home
How much luggage can I bring? - There is limited space on the buses, so we ask you to limit your
baggage to one suitcase per person with the dimensions of 76cm x 46cm x 25cm and a maximum weight 23kg. You can also bring one piece of hand luggage,
provided it is small enough to take on the coach. It is also ok to bring a small day pack or handbag.
Will I be able to change currency? - changing currency in Turkey is easy. Most cities have a Doviz (currency exchange office) and banks. Many
hotels in Turkey exchange currency also. ATMs that accept overseas cards are generally easy to find. Check with your bank before you leave home if it has a partner
bank in Turkey as this will greatly reduce transaction fees for withdrawals from the ATM. You may find it difficult to change traveller's cheques.
Are tips included in my tour price? - tips are not included in the tour price. It is customary to give a small tip to your waiter in
restaurants. Use 10% of the bill as a rough guideline. It is also customary to give a tip to your tour guide and bus driver at the end of the tour if you are happy
with their service.
On Tour How do I purchase optional activities? - we believe that personal choice is important and
we also try not to overload you with so many activities on tour that you feel exhausted. At many destinations we will recommend an optional activity but it is up to you.
If you are interested in doing an optional activity such as a balloon flight in Cappadocia or paragliding in Fethiye speak to your tour guide who will arrange the booking.
Are credit cards accepted in Turkey? - credit cards are accepted in Turkey, but you will often have to
pay an additional fee to use your credit card. You will generally get a much better deal if you pay with cash. We recommend having a mix of Euro and Turkish Lira with you as you travel.
What about my electrical appliances? - Turkish power points are the round, two-pin variety - we recommend
purchasing one or two European power adaptors so that you can easily charge your camera and other appliances.
Is it easy to get my laundry done? - most hotels in Turkey provide a laundry service. It is difficult
to find places where you can do your own laundry. Many hotels do not have a clothes dryer and so rely on sunshine to dry your clothes. It is a good idea to ask your tour guide
which town will be the best to get laundry done so that you have a long enough stop over to get your clothes dry.
Will I have free time? - Yes. We believe that everyone needs some time out while they are on tour, so our
itineraries are designed with this in mind. If you want to explore in your free time rather than relax, your tour guide will always be happy to give
you ideas for extra things you can visit or do.
