Itinerary:
Located on the north-western side of the Dardenelles, the Gallipoli peninsula has long been a key to Istanbul in that anyone breaking through the straits, had a good chance of capturing
Istanbul. Many have tried, but few have succeeded. Although today the Gallipoli
Peninsula is a peaceful place, it is a place of great significance for Australians and New Zealanders, many of whom make the trek here each year for ANZAC Day.
You don't need to be a military buff to enjoy this comprehensive tour which will take you to:
Ari Burnu (First ANZAC landing place)
Kabatepe War Museum
Beach Cemetery (John Simpson's Grave)
ANZAC Cove
Lone Pine Cemetery (Australian memorial)
Johnston's Jolly (including the trenches)
View Shrapnel Valley
Turkish Memorial
Chunuk Bair (Main New Zealand memorial)
After the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel.
Note: there is very little shade at the Gallipoli site, so please make sure you bring suncream and a good hat and sunglasses.
